    Welcome to Ask the Speaker

This thread is where you can ask the Speaker any questions in a public forum.

For example, it can be used to find out how the Speaker would interpret an ambiguous part of the constitution so you can get clarity on a particular issue.

This thread isn't for asking the Speaker about their personal politics, as they are strictly bound to neutrality.

The current Speaker of the House of Commons is PetrosAC.

The current Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons is cranbrook_aspie.

So you're the guy who's browsing the web looking for new articles only to write ‘first post’ in the discussion?

I'm still sleeping off the May Ball on Wednesday. I was not up in time for breakfast, trust me. Fish and chips at lunchtime I guess...

    I probably shouldn't comment.

I mustn't. Just to say that I don't think much of my own MP.

The review certainly is coming on Monday though.

Yeah, but fish and chips in ****ing Cambridge?

You don't get real fish and chips outside either the North or more than 10 miles from the sea.

    Yes, Cambridge.

In all honestly, I've had better fish and chips. Also chips with curry sauce are not a big thing here, so my inner Welshman is not quite satisfied.

Mr speaker, !igjt I suggest you start following the GD and stop posting multiple non government bills on the same day as this would avoid dead days.
