Hey guys, I am really worried as I did all of my diagrams in pencil for this exam. I thought that in D1 pencils were allowed but I've been told otherwise, is this the casE?

Hey, just had my d1 edexcel exam as well. You are allowed to do your diagrams with a pencil but the important bit is which pencil dos you used? I got told by my teacher that the pencil has to be a B2 Pencil and in worst case a HB because other penicils are often to light to be read by the scanner. You should be fine as long as you used these penicils!

If your paper would not scan then it will be picked up and dealt with. It will not just be ignored. It could end up in front of a marker who could not read it but there is a mechanism for that and the paper version would be found and rescanned. This could cause a delay but probably would be out of the system in time to be marked and processed.

That being said, occasionally papers do get lost and I do not know how the scanning company finds the paper to be rescanned.

    You're fine.
For D1 you're encouraged to do the entire paper in pencil, so for diagrams you're perfectly fine. D1 is the only paper you're allowed to do every single question in pencil.
Doing D1 without a pencil would be extremely difficult as it's so easy to make a mistake.
Also note, you can do all diagrams/graphs in pencil for any maths paper.

In conclusion, there is no need for you to worry.
