    1st - 70%+
    2.1 - 60%+
    2.2 - 50%+
    3rd - 40%+

a 2.1 is good and the most common grade of degree.

I got more than 70% and didn't get the top mark awarded. Some Uni's have quirky mark schemes

We were always told that a 2.2 is the most common... My experience of life outside academia seem to suggest this too.

How did Clinical Medicine get a first percentage? No uni other than Oxbridge give 1st-3rds for med, and I thought Oxbridge only did for the first BA part

    Nope...they lied

    First: 8%
    2i: 43%
    2ii: 35%
    3rd: 8%
    Other(but not fails): 6%

For the whole of the UK for 96/97-00/01

Looking at raw percentage marks my experience pointed at low 2is and high 2iis being the biggest group.
Meh! Common again! Story of my life!

Maritime Technology is the same as ship science offered by Southampton, Newcastle and Plymouth.
    Average points/A level being:

    Soton: 102
    Newcastle: 90
    Plymouth: 74

hardly a doss subject - a rigorous branch of engineering.
    I stand corrected!

Are such figures available for a Masters degree? Perhaps even a breakdown...?
