Are there any degrees that apart from medicine that:
    1) Give a good overall understanding of the whole human body
    2) Give you knowledge for which medicine to prescribe for which purpose
    3) Enable you to open a private practice
    4) Allow you to prescribe..

    Thanks..

Pharmacy gives you knowledge for which medicine to prescribe.
If you do dentistry you could open a private dental practice

That's like asking if you can work as a doctor without being a doctor. Things like physiotherapy might be an option.

That's a very specific, very bizarre question. Why do you ask it?

Find a biomedical science course with a lot of focus on pharmacology.
I've just finished my degree in biomed, and I've been working in pharmacy for 5 years - I'm pretty good with drug knowledge.
You won't be able to prescribe unless you become a Dr/dentist, physician associate or a nurse practitioner.

If you're willing to be flexible on point 1, being a vet pretty much fits the bill perfectly.

This is such an odd question.

You are basically asking if you can be a doctor without doing the medicine degree, and your answer is no, you will not be able to do that. Your basically asking if you can become a GP without going through med school and thats not possible.

but there are other degrees which enable you entry into the medical profession, just not as a doctor (so you may have to drop the private practice thing). look at dentistry, pharmacy, physiotherapy.

No, I wasn't thinking about GP. I know it's not possible to be a doctor without medicine.

    Pharmacy

    1) Yes
    2) Certainly
    3) Yes, you could open up your own independent community pharmacy and build it up into a chain of pharmacies.
    4) Yes, although I think it's 2 years after you're a qualified pharmacist.

If you know then why ask. Do your own research into optometry and dentistry and pick which one you think suits you more. Eyes or teeth.

    I said ''along the lines''.
That means OTHER THINGS related to them. I'm not a dumbass that i'd waste time asking if I knew.
