I'm currently coming towards the end of year 12. I study Biology, chemistry, English lit/lang and history and I'm probably ging to drop biology and I'm most likely going to study a history/english related course at university and I'd say I'm likely to achieve between AAB and AAA for my A levels. I've looked up many unis that I consider including the likes of Southampton, Loughborough, Warwick, Sussex, Birmingham and Exeter. But how should I decide which 5 to put down as the ones I want to go to and ultimately the ONE I want to go to? I'm from London.

    1. Consider the content of the courses. History and English degrees vary hugely in what you can study.

    2. Consider the environment in which you will be studying, particularly whether you prefer large or small cities.

    3. Go to lots of open days.

    4. Consider the merits of courses which offer a year abroad or other 'extras'

    5. Have a long think!
