Hi all, i was after some advice to which course to take in September? I have been going back and forth and simply cannot make a decision!

I'm a 29 year old man, decided to go back into education last year after long periods of unemployement due to a health issue. I have just finished my GCSEs in Maths and English.

I was interested in the BTEC Business Diploma as it is equivalent to 3 A-levels (2 year course) and possibilities of University (depending on if i do well). It's fulltime and i've heard the workload is pretty intense with alot of coursework, so all of it will be a challenge i am not quite sure if i'll meet the standard, though obviously a Degree would leave me in a good position job wise.

Then i was thinking in more practical terms of an AAT Accounting level 2 course instead (followed by level 3 and 4) since i enjoyed the numeracy of Maths, i don't think the course would be as demanding being only one evening a week. The plan would be to do my level 2 then try and get an entry level job in accounts, getting the much needed experience before moving on to the level 3 & 4 AAT course, giving me a good foundation in the field, but i have concerns i might struggle getting that all important first job with no real world experience...

I'm torn between the useful first qualification of accounting vs doing a BTEC in Business and the possibility of further education?....Which would be more worthwhile?

Any opinions and advice would be highly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance! ☺
