    Hiya,

I'm hoping to study Politics at Durham University starting September 2017 and want to make myself a reading list.

I'm involved in Politics locally and nationally in the Labour Party and with some non-partisan campaigns surrounding women's rights and have also been a heavy campaigner for the "Remain" vote for the EU.

Can anyone suggest any books on anything regarding Politics, theory, etc.

If it matters - although I'd be interested in any kind of theory/events/studies, I'm very left-wing and consider myself to be even further left than Jeremy Corbyn MP, although not a Communist.

    Cheers,

    Jack

    Political theory in general:

    A Swift, Political Philosophy
D Miller, Political Philosophy: A Very Short Introduction

Something congenial to your point of view:

J Wolff, Why Read Marx Today?
G A Cohen, Why Not Socialism?

Something not so congenial to your point of view:

    M Friedman, Capitalism and Freedom
F A Hayek, The Road to Serfdom
