I'll be starting at Birmingham in September and I'm wondering if I will need to pay for some kind of streaming service or for a TV licence. It says in the accommodation booklet that the rooms have IPTV included, but I have no idea what this is. I have quite a few TV shows that I don't think I could live without, and I'm thinking I probably won't be able get them on this IPTV thing.

Is it worth paying for either a TV licence or for a subscription to something like netflix, or is there a lot of stuff availible on the IPTV thing? And if I were to get a TV licence, would everyone in the flat pay for their own or do people sometimes split the cost between them? Is it common for students to share netflix subscriptions?
Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
