I will probably get the above grades, where can I go with them for politics or philosophy (or both!).
I'm thinking UEA, Kent or Royal Holloway. All of them are stated as ABB although I'm not sure how lenient they are with clearing applicants though. Anyone with the same situation or maybe who are currently going to these uni's would like to pitch in?

since you would have an unusual mix of grades, I would definitely ring up and inquire anyway. If you got, for example, A*BC, that would be the same UCAS points as ABB. Whilst they may not be looking for UCAS points, you could still make this argument. Your C may even be, for example, 1 or 2 UMS from a B, so you could always mention that as well. Make sure you know your UMS grades inside out (how far from each boundary you are), so that you can argue your case. It's not unknown for universities to accept equivalent grades, but unfortunately there's no guarantee. You may be asked a few questions about yourself and your academic history/interests, so these can sway them too. When ringing up universities, it may be a good idea to write down questions you want to ask/that they ask, so you can be clear and concise.
I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. I only know what I do due to reading up on TSR (I'm worried I may achieve A*BC/ABC instead of ABB too!), so I've been doing my research. Hopefully somebody who has been through clearing under similar circumstances will reply.
