Acne goes eventually, and even if there's some scarring (I have superficial scarring on my face myself), it's mostly about personality anyway for me. Any boy who's put off by your acne is probably shallow and you can do better!

Some would. Some wouldn't.

It depends on the individual. But having acne does not equal being completely unfanciable to everyone.

Well all throughout my teenage years, and right up until the age of about 21 I suffered with TERRIBLE acne. And I've had partners. The acne mostly got ME down, rather than my partners. Even now, I'm still under the care of a dermatologists and do not have what I would call good skin, but I still have a boyfriend! I understand how awful and terrible having acne can make you feel, but try to have confidence in yourself, because that is one of the most appealing factors in attracting somebody. Meanwhile, have you spoken to your GP about your acne? If it is really getting you down you will be able to get a referral to a dermatologists and they will be able to provide you with products and support to help improve the acne. Good luck :smile:

The truth is it depends how bad. A little bit is not a turn off really, but if it's really bad, it might be a bit off-putting.

Excessive acne is offputting, and unless you're aware of it being due to a medical reason, it does give off the idea that the person just doesn't wash.

my boyfriend goes out with me and i have moderate acne.

i hate acne. i also hate the way that every time you start a new treatment you become convinced it will work faster for you than the average time. but it never does (if at all). grr. my boyfriend always has to remind me of that everytime i get down about a treatment. meh. nice that he's supportive though. :biggrin:

only shallow guys let it bother them so much that they wouldn't date you.

T'would be hypocritical for me to not. if people make judgements on whether you are worth going out with based on acne, then they're not worth dating.
