So ****ing pissed. Found the paper fine but I couldn't do the last part to que 9. Then I managed to work it out when i got home before checking on here but it's Obvs too ****ing late. Didn't register that "b/e" in the LN function included the function e. Kept thinking e was a constant, for **** sake.
for question 8b. Was it just me who got only 2 angles instead of 4?...

how do you get over it..coz i skipped all of it as well

am not over it at al, am clicking my fingers and binge eating till I die , its left me needing 100 ums for c4 to get an A, coz that's going to happen

guys if you don't cross out your answers then they have to mark whatever's there right? So if you showed an incorrect method and then a correct one but you didn't cross out the incorrect one then you'll still get the marks?

you're right

you're right

Okay thank God haha xD
I think i dropped anywhere between 6-10 marks, oh well :/

How marks do you think I have lost, if I've lost one do you think I could get an A* losing 6 marks???

Definitely, A* is probably going to be 68-69 max
Original post by veldt127
It asked for simplest form; you could root that (as it's half a log) and get ln2.5.

i swear it said exact form not simplest form ?

Thanks!)

Yeah I think it was that, I don't get how you solve it though

I subbed G into F

Got 28 / (x-2) = x + 1

Then ended up with X^2 - x - 30 = 0

which Im pretty sure is wrong and unsolvable

That's what I got!!

I'm not 100% sure on all of these, but I think most are correct.

Think I've got all the same!
can anyone tell me the distribution of marks for each question/part ? cheers
Did it definitely say simplest form cos I'm also sure it was exact
X^2 - X - 30 can be solved.. it factorises into (X-6)(X+5). Its what I got too leading to X = 6 and -5

For Q6, how many marks will I lose for using 0.5 as the gradient instead of -0.5? I differentiated correctly, got 2 as the gradient, and got the y value (16) at x=3 but the wrong equation for the normal
Its not unsolvable? (x-6)(x+5)?
What was 5a?

Number of marks for each question:
1) a: 4, b: 1
2) a: 4, b: 3
3) a: 3, b: 5, c: 2
4) a: 5, b: 2, c: 2, d: 2
5) a: 5, b: 5
6) a: 4, b: 5
7) a: 2, b: 3
8) a: 4, b: 6
9) a: 2, b: 2, c: 4

For 2a would I get the marks if I simplified the numerator to 4(5-x^2)????????

That's right though it said simplest form and the last step was to simplify the numerator

You will probably lose 1-2 marks..you'll receive mostly method marks
