    Hi everyone, I was just wondering do respectable unis accept people who have A2 retakes? And your experience if any of you had to go through that

    It depends on the Uni and Course. For some courses (e.g Medicine), many Uni's want to see A-Levels completed within 2 years so won't accept A2 retakes. It's best to have a look at the entry requirements for the Uni's/Courses you're interested in and contact their admissions team to find out.

    I'd imagine that it should be OK for most Uni's, but it'd be best to check before you apply.

    i wouldn't think unis would be that picky, as long as you have high predictions and a decent reference to go with it

    Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Durham, St.Andrews, ICL and Manchester (maybe others) will not accept anybody resitting. Basically every medical school also. I found it to be a very unpleasant experience.Also almost no colleges accept people who will turn 19 in the year of study anymore so it could be quite expensive sitting as a private candidate.

    Both Medical and Veterinary Medicine courses do accept resit A2's, just not every university. I cannot speak for medicine but for vet courses usually if a standard offer is AAB they require minimum AAA.

    Which part? This is something i was told by their admissions department before I applied. I had 4 A's at AS
