I'm concerned I won't be able obtain three As at the end of this year due to the way my exams are going. Since this is the entry requirement for York Law School I'm really worried I won't get in! How lenient do you think they'll be? Surely due to the interview process they are more inclined to let people in with lower grades? I got AAA last year but I'm predicting I'll get ABC this year. How likely do you think it'll be that I'll get let in??😭😭

It's possible you'll get in, definitely. Offers are rarely absolute. But it's also possible you won't.

I would just tell you to wait patiently to see what will happen, and not to try to overthink.

Hi there, I think Universities are a lot more lenient than you think, I missed by one grade and still got into my chosen uni to do law. If the A level exams were known to be hard with the percentage achieving the highest grades being lower than normal you stand a good chance of getting in. But don't take my word for it.

I'm also a York Law applicant and I'm terrified that my exams haven't gone well... and it doesn't help that I'm not a big fan of my insurance choice.

I do recall them stating on the open day that they can be lenient - they'd prefer to let those who placed them as their firm choice in with lower grades, compared to those who placed them as insurance, and certainly over those from clearing, who wouldn't have been interviewed. It all comes down to how many people missed their offer, but those with AAB have a good chance of still getting in. ABC is quite a bit lower than AAA, but there's still a reasonable chance. What I expect they'll do is review your personal statement and their notes from your interview - so if your application was great, with only your final A2 grades letting you down, there's hope.

Worrying now won't change anything, so if possible try and push results day to the back of your mind for now (though I'm struggling to do that!).
