How do you go to the doctors or dentists whilst working 9-5? Watch

Just started a year-long placement and realised I need to get a prescription for contraception, and at some point I will need to go to the dentists.

How do the working crowd do this? I know some doctors open earlier and/or later than usual to accommodate this, but I can't get there in time to/from work!
Also I have a dentist appointment booked and they only open 9-5.

Seriously how do you get around this?! Help!

Some GPs and dental surgeries are open on Saturday. Most places I have worked at have been fine with allowing people to go in later/leave earlier to go to appointments (although you might be asked to provide an appointment card as proof and/or have the time taken off your holiday entitlement). For your contraception you could see if any sexual health clinics near you are open late; the one in my hometown had clinics on til 9 some nights.
