How do I decide what universities to visit for open days if I don't know what I want to study?? any ideas

Well first of all you must have some idea based on the subjects you have taken at a level and this would be the place to start. I would suggest researching the courses that are available and seeing which ones might interest.
In terms of which university, do you have any idea how fat you would like to travel away from home? This was a big factor for me and narrowed down my choices.
Is the reputation of the university important to you? You might want to target Russell group unis or unis high in the league tables or maybe some with lower requirements for insurance choices.
Look at the list of subjects available, and from this book slots for these courses on these open days if you have to. Look at different courses at the open days and it might help you with your choice.
