Well first of all you must have some idea based on the subjects you have taken at a level and this would be the place to start. I would suggest researching the courses that are available and seeing which ones might interest.
In terms of which university, do you have any idea how fat you would like to travel away from home? This was a big factor for me and narrowed down my choices.
Is the reputation of the university important to you? You might want to target Russell group unis or unis high in the league tables or maybe some with lower requirements for insurance choices.
Look at the list of subjects available, and from this book slots for these courses on these open days if you have to. Look at different courses at the open days and it might help you with your choice.
    Hope this helps.

Decide which unis you find interesting in general in terms of look and environment, then start doing research over the summer and visit others during y13 (you can book visit days). Also there are video tours on YouTube, which is very useful if you live far away
