I'm going to need to resit one module next year as I failed it in my second year and need to pass it in order to progress on to third year. However this module is only 1 semester so how would this affect me in the terms of student finance?

Resit or retake? If its just the exam then pay for it yourself pr get your uni to include it in the third year i.e combine them.
The danger is that it will count as a full years funding and use up yout gift year or worse.

Retake, I'm an architecture student so it would be a semester long project.

Then am almost certian it counts as a full years funding.

Ask on the sfe thread if itas not answered here or ring them to confirm payment schedule.
Seems to be that you get funding as normal, even if you are doing less.
