Here is a good multiplayer chess thing,

http://www.shockwave.com/contentPlay...hess&preplay=1

That chess engine is quite frankly ****e! Even on the hardest difficulty it was in mate after 12 moves:

e4 b6
d4 e6
Nf3 Na6
a3 Nb8
Bc4 d5
exd5 exd5
Qe2 Kd7
Bxd5 Nc6
Bxf7 Nxd4
Nxd4 Kd6
Bf4 Kd7
Qe6#

That is why you play against a human apponant.

I used to play for my county, suffolk mens' team when i was 16. My rating was around 1700-1800. Haven't played much in the last 2-3 years though, but would love to start again.

I'll probably join the uni chess team in sept.

I have just noticed something, We don't have a chess club, so I thought I would make one.
Sure, but do you actually intend to organise a tournament online? cuz that would be good. Not that I'd have a shot at making it past the second round lol. Not quite as good as my brother and father

There are several versions out there. I think yahoo has one. But the problem would be in getting people online at the same time to play.

True, and not everyone has a yahoo account.

If you play OTB matches/tournaments, you won't see many sadly

Oh btw, the cheating on yahoo, ppl put your moves into fritz/junior/chessmaster/whatever and it tells them where to move. Only works in long games obviously, so challenge them to speed chess and if they're terrible compared to slow play, you know the truth hehe. There are also programs which connect to certain chess servers and play for you.
That's why I pay to use ICC, cuz they ban anyone who doesn't declare they are using a program, plus the players are good lol.
I think if we're all gonna have a tourn, it will have to be something like yahoo though so that we can all use it.
