# Method Marks Edexcel GCSE Mathematics B-Unit 2. watch

1. I did the Edexcel Unit 2 (Calculator) Paper this month for Edexcel. For one question I put all the working out into the calculator and only wrote the answer down. The question was worth 3 marks. Would I get all 3 marks or only get 1 as I only put the answer?
2. if the answer is correct, all 3.
3. Thank you so much for your response!

I don't mean to say you are incorrect but are you sure? The Edexcel mark schemes say A1. They don't say anything about giving all 3 if the answer is correct.

No problem and I'm always taught if it is not a method question e.g. 'Complete this venn diagram to solve ...' then the answer gives the full marks. Method is there to gain marks when answer is wrong.

A1 means that the method to get the answer gives one mark - Answer is 21 but if someone does 7 x 3= 22 they get 1 mark for 7 x 3

This is atleast for IGCSE
5. Thank you so much. That's very reassuring! Also I did the same for a 5 marker in Unit 1. I had a guess and the answer was correct! Would I get full marks for that
