    If you're having trouble picking between the two names that you like the most then why not use the two names for example if you can't decide between Tanya and Abigail why not call the character Tanya Abigail or Abigail Tanya

    I don't know, something about that doesn't sound authentic. Maybe it's because I've never heard either of those names used as a surname. For male names it could work, for example if you can't decide between "Tom" and "Jack", you could have "Tom Jackson" or "James Thompson"

    I did this the added a last name that was mention only 5 times in the whole book
