I really need some advice, I applied to do biomedical science at the University of Sheffield and I am really interested in the content but I'm still not sure about doing it. I felt more sure when I applied but as it's getting closer to September I'm really doubting myself. I'm not sure if I have unrealistic expectations of how enthusiastic i should be about studying the degree I've chosen or whether I'm making a mistake.

A lot of people have wobbles. You need to work out if you have genuinely changed your mind or not. Look at the course structure, modules, career prospects and anything else you can find.

Think about it. If you still feel the same after then you can use clearing/extra to change to a different course

It may just be nerves. I recommend at least sticking out the first few weeks and you may be able to change courses in October. Someone I lived with in first year was on biomed and swapped to something else cos she didn't like it.

How does swapping your course work? Can you give me more information about that? Thank you

I've done that, I am interested in the content, but then I also love maths, it doesn't mean I want to do a degree in maths, you see what I mean? That's what worries me.
I've looked at career prospects and whilst I wouldn't mind doing those jobs, it doesn't feel like my 'dream job'
Another thing that bothers me is that, I've read that jobs in the field aren't easy to get. This isn't made easier by the fact that the course offered by the University where I really want to be isn't accredited. And they said that 1/3 of graduates don't go for a job in the field, and I don't want a degree for the sake of accessing degree level jobs, I know that for certain.

I'm pretty sure your tutor will sort it out. As long as both departments are happy with the swap and you can justify yourself well, it's just a case of filling in the relevant forms.
