At AS I took English, RE, Art and French with the intention of dropping one at AS. I want to study journalism at uni, and my choice of subjects to drop is out of french or art. I enjoy art a lot more, and I know I'd get a much better grade than in french...but every person I've spoken to pulls a face when I say i'm thinking of dropping french, because they think it's super important, even though I hate french and I think I've done pretty bad this year. So I really don't know what to do, help?

I'd definitely go with art. Students are led to believe that particular subjects are more valuable than others but it seems like you'll have a great balance, especially if you want to go on to do journalism. There's no reason why you need to choose French over something (equally as important) that you love.
