Hiya, I'm in my AS year at college and have a question about facilitating subjects.

I currently take Religious Studies, English Literature, History and Film Studies. I think it's highly likely I've failed history so I will have to drop it so will most likely be down english, RS and film for A2. Trouble is, I want to go to a Russell Group uni but have been told I will need 2 facilitating subjects. I was under the impression that RS is facilitating but apparently not. Will it be impossible to get into a russell group uni? I have great extra curricular activities e.g student union and student governor and student council etc. I think I'd like to do either english or philosophy at uni. Even if by some miracle I have passed history, i dont want to pursue it for A2..

    Help? Thanks!

No as if you look at the facilitating subjects a lot of it is directed at keeping your options open.
As you know what it is you want, then best check with the Unis and departments you are most intersted in as to whether that mix is acceptable. If it is, then you dont have to worry about History.

Not true! I studied Psychology, Sociology and Film Studies and had offers from Birmingham and Cardiff.

    Best of luck
