Northumbria - quay point!

Just got my accomodation through and got quay point.. just wondering if anyone else has got quay point too?? I put camden court as my first choice but think i didnt get it as i had a conditional offer on a pass from my foundation course. Starting to get a bit nervous now so would be really cool to meet other people going to quay point too as have heard a few worrying things about it! I've heard its quite hard to socialise in and you never meet anyone other than the people in your flat! eeek! so anyone going there???

I was at the uni and im goin there again.
Camden court is definatley the better IMO but quay point is alot newer. I've heard some awful things about quay point but one of my mates was living there and he seemed to like it. If you really hate it you can always move etc, i know alot about newcastle if you need any help.

Does this mean I'll get a decision on where I'll be living pretty soon then?

I didn't get my decision until I recieved my A-Levels in August.

Thanks for that  Obviously people with unconditional offers have got priority over me then.

I think it's mainly based on first come first served but I'm not sure. What order did you put down?

I seee ... You had to put down 6 didn't you. I can only remember the first two; Liberty House & Camden Court. Never been to Liberty House so I haven't a clue what that would be like. Camden seemed alright though. Some of my mates up there said Jesmond is an alright place to live so this is why I put down Liberty House ...

Jesmond is a nice place  Plus you have the advantage of nearby pubs and a little tesco/boots/starbucks all grouped together

So what course is everyong going to do at Northumbria?

aah, thankyou so much  I'll send you a message if I need any help.

Yeah I know about the metro and yeah I've been to Newcastle quite a bit. I have a few friends who've lived in Newcastle all their lifes and used to go out with a lass up there so I've been quite a bit. Still get confused with what zone to choose when getting on the metro though

Jesmond is only like 10 minutes walk from the City Centre anyway isn't it? So I guess I'll just walk in any case ...

The metro zones have become simpler but alot more expensive for short trips, i tend to take the car most days though. Newcastle is a great place to be i love it
Jesmond is pretty cool too, i might be moving to the tesco there tis where the cool people are ^^

I had a miserable time at Quay Point. People tell you it's the nicest accommodation but they're a huge rip-off and constantly try and scam money out of you. The way they deal with nuisance tenants (or should that be DON'T deal with nuisance tenants) is very concerning.

That said, a few of my mates had fun there and made some good mates. Always handy for when you need housemates in the further academic years. So it's not all doom and gloom, just be weary.
Quay Point is the only offer I have received. I'm a little bit disapointed, and I'm wondering if I should accept.
I hope we will make it Newcastle's party central anyway!
