M&S Sunday pay + supermarket Sunday pay
Any current M&S staff know if M&S pay time & a half on Sundays to new employees? (Or rather, returning ex-employees?)
Of the other supermarkets, I know Waitrose pay time & a half to new employees on Sunday's. Anybody know about the other supermarkets? (I'm moving and having to quit my current part time job at Waitrose - and want to go to another supermarket where I'll also get 1.5 for Sundays if I can).

Only staff on old contracts get this. New staff get 1.25 or time + a premium. I work for tesco's union and its my job to know this rubbish.

A few years back tesco decided to start phasing out paying staff extra for a sunday, staff used to get double time which reduced to time and a half and then down to time and a quater. This will then be replaced with time + sunday premium.

i know that the M&S near me pay 6.70 an hour and on sundays its the same.

Yes it will be your normal wage + a fixed ammount per hour (not sure what it is)

Sainsbury's dont pay a premium on sunday unless the colleague signed their contract on or before a certain date, which i believe was a few years ago. So new colleagues do not get a premium. I believe the premium is time and a half though.

Yes they do pay time and a half on a sunday to all new employees.
e.g customer assistants start on 5.75/hr so on a sunday thats a rather nice £8.62/hr
