Hello.
This is more for consulting, rather than IB.
Which factor is more important? University name or work experience?
According to a relative who works for Lloyds, work experience is more important than university name.
Degree 1:
- Economics
- From a semi-target, e.g. Nottingham (more 'prestigious')
- 3 year course
Degree 2:
- Economics
- Not from a target, but from a 'decent university', e.g. Birmingham
- 4 year course with a Year in Industry (assuming a year can be done in a relevant sector)
Obviously it depends on the person and what other skills they offer apart from academics.
Thank you.

Nottingham because of superior brand name but also because you will have more success of getting internships during your year. The placement yeah you get from Bham will probably be in BO.

For consulting, the brands that 'count' are Oxbridge and LSE/Imperial - everything else is kind of in the same bucket.
