I've got online quotes from several different comparison sites and they all come up with quotes that cost 6-8000 a year.
I want a ford focus or something similar, maybe saloon with a 1.6L engine or something. I have about £700 to spend on a car. A quote for a focus recently came up with around 7000 a year, or 2500 with black box.
Insurance needs to be able to be paid monthly, and definitely no black boxes since I don't want to be penalised for speeding. Black box quotes for most of the cars are usually only 1000-3000 a year but imo not worth having to stick to speed limits.

You know you'll still have to stick to speed limits without a black box, right? :erm:

Look at getting something with a smaller engine size, and doing pass plus if you haven't already, however. That should help reduce it somewhat.

As Shadow said, you wouldn't have a car to pay insurance on if you're thinking about speeding :/ Also if you get 6 points or more within your first two years of passing your test, your license will be cancelled.

Pass plus is a bit useless and isnt likely to bring your insurance down any.
