    Hi Friends
I want to get started with web programming. I have basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript. Can you guys suggest which server side programming should i start learning. Which one is easy to get started and widely used?

    Thanks

    Python is a good choice.

PHP would also be a good choice. Though PHP isn't any fun until you start using frameworks for it.

Since you're already familiar with JS, take it to the next level and look at JS frameworks, e.g. for back-end development, Node.js and Express. You may as well research 'single page apps' and also take a look at Angular.js. These skillsets are in high demand. You'll eventually want to look at something like MySQL and NoSQL e.g. MongoDB or similar.

Alternatively (to Node.js), you could use PHP as well, in which case I'd recommend the Laravel framework and follow the Laracasts tutorials. Easily integrate JS libraries/frameworks into it. Angular.js (or Vue.js) + Laravel (PHP) + MySQL + local server setup, using PhpStorm as your IDE, integrate with Git for version control and you're pretty much set towards a career in full-stack web app development.
