Glenn Hoddle HAS to be the next England manager

The guy's passionate, tactically brilliant and obviously has previous tournament experience as a manager and player.

About his comments on disabled people, you have to remember that was almost 20 years ago. At that time, gay marriage was illegal everywhere, and it was legal to rape your wife in the 90s too. Hoddle had a bit of a weird spiritual/religious phase, which he is clearly over now.

If anyone else (other than Bilic) is appointed, DO NOT expect us to do any better at tournaments. If Greece could win the Euros, we bloody well can get to at least the semis. We just need a few more technically skilled players (coming through younger age groups as I type), and a tactically astute manager.

If Hoddle was that good he wouldn't have been out of football management for 10 years.

He's 59 this year and hasn't managed a top division team for 13 years. What would be the point? I'd rather keep Hodgson.

Has done nothing of note the last ten years besides be an awful co-commentator, not a bad pundit tbf.

The dearth of options available mean Hoddle is involved in the discussions but if they do decide to give Southgate the job temporarily then he could be a handy, experienced manager as a number two possibly.

It was disappointing his first reign ended in the way it did as we'll never know how he would have performed in the tournament's ahead with the England team he had at his disposal.

There's a reason he's not found a managerial job since being sacked by Wolves in 2006, and why his only spell in coaching since was with a con artist like 'Arry. It's because he's an utter bozo.

Nothing says progression like employing a man who thinks disabled people have sinned in previous lives.

The football we played under Hoddle was of an even worse quality than the football we played under Terry Connor. Dull, insipid and no passion - everything that is being moaned about with the England team currently. There's a reason he hasn't had a job since we sacked him 10 years ago!
