Hi, I'm rapidly approaching 30 and have decided it's time to pull my finger out regarding getting some qualifications.

I'm wondering about the best distance learning suppliers for access courses,
    degrees etc.

I was also wondering whether an access course is necessary or if I should just go straight into a degree with the OU. Any help/opinions/ideas would be greatly
    appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Joe

    Hi Joe,

I am afraid I don't know much about access courses, but I did just self-teach chemistry A Level.

I used UK distance learning and honestly found them totally unhelpful. I found better free material online (from question banks to practice understanding, to youtube tutorials to revision notes) and once I reached A2 I had totally abandoned the file of notes they sent me in favour of my textbook and these free recourses. Not to say all distance learning providers are the same, or all subjects are as well provided for online but for your basic subjects I imagine there is a wealth of free resource out there. May be a cheaper place to start!

If you are taking A Level chemistry let me know as I’d be more than happy to share the websites I found helpful. Best of luck!
