Hey so my best friend for the last 7 years is really angry with me though I only just found out today. We've sort of been drifting apart since we started A-levels two years ago and she moved to another town.

The main reasons she is unhappy with me is that firstly because I didn't celebrate my 18th birthday with her, instead I celebrated it with my friends from my new school. I didn't think she'd mind because we went out for a meal together beforehand to celebrate and the place I had my party was for 18 + and she was only 17.

Secondly she's mad that I didn't go to her 18th celebration. I wanted to go but it was very badly organised and was the Sunday before my first exam and she wanted to go clubbing in London! I tried to explain it wouldn't be practical to have it then but she refused to change it.

I just got an angry text from her (two months later, we've been fine since) saying she's upset that I didn't go to her birthday and that we haven't celebrated it in anyway together which I understand is probably upsetting. I thought she'd understand as we both had a heck of a lot of exams though I still feel bad.

She's now sent me a string of angry text messages because I told her I was going out clubbing to celebrate another friends 18th. She's really annoyed with me and acting angry and really passive aggressive.

I know I haven't been the best friend lately but thought she'd be understanding given the circumstances.

How can I fix this and stop her being angry?

Many thanks if you read all of this.

She's probably angry because she's scared that you're getting bored of her. Show her that you're still best friends! Talk through it with her.
