Some courses switched to the ' new style ' alevels form September 2015, more will switch from September 2016 and others will switch from September 2017.

For example if you're studying history, English literature, psychology then all these subjects turned linear last year so if you start sixth form this September then you sit your exams at the end of the two years.

However if you're studying say maths for example then you will still sit the old style alevel and will sit AS exams next year and will sit the A2 exams in two years time as maths doesn't switch to linear till September 2017.

Your school will tell you which subjects are old spec and which are new spec
