I'm currently studying at Newcastle university, my friend is studying the exact same course as me but at Northumbria. I'm having a not so great time, I've been finding the course very difficult, haven't made many friends and I actually need to resit a module just to pass the first year. I'm really thinking hard about transferring from Newcastle University to Northumbria University. Has anybody got any advice? Or even how to go about doing it?

Talk to your module tutor about it first of all. You could also email Northumbria's admissions team (er.admissions[at]northumbria.ac.uk) and ask them

I would reccomend completing all modules to complete year one so you can transfer straight into year two at Northumbria. I would speak to the programme leader at Northumbria and ask for a chat, as s/he will make the decision to accept you. (Even ask your friend to come along too.) Once you have done that, contact Admissions and ask for advice. Once you have transfered and enrolled, Newcastle and Northumbria should inform student finance of the transfer and bill your tuition fee accordingly.
Have you ever experienced racism/sexism at uni?
