Morning I am hoping that someone can help me with some advice.

My daughter has received a letter from SQA advising Plagiarism has been detected and the PENALTY details are CANCEL. I have been through every website I can to see if there was any clear advice on whether they have cancelled only the Essay or is it the FULL EXAM that has been cancelled which would mean " NO MARK "

It should say in the letter. I can't see it. It normally provides a report of what they found and how they reached the decision. If you dont accept the decision, then it is possible to appeal within ten days, but you should appreciate just what plagiarism is
You should also read the declaration the pupil has to make about it being their own work.

    Presumably this is coursework?

Your best bet is to contact SQA on the contact details to explain it.

    Imo these are the rules.

The penalties are contained in Appendix 1 p11. It simply says cancel. Imo the cancelation is of the whole exam as there are no penalties for a reduction of marks for plagiarism. She will have to resit.
