So this morning I drank a bit too much coffee. To be honest I drink too much coffee every day (not for the effects, but just because I love the taste) so I don't know what happened today, maybe I put an extra spoon of coffee into the mug, I don't know know, but I really felt the effects, I became restless, my heart was racing and I became REALLY anxious... like I felt like I was gonna have a a panic/heart attac or something and I felt this slight numbness in the palm of my hand. Anyways, I felt completely **** and then a few hours later, I lay down for like 30 minutes and became really sleepy but I had to go to work, so I get up and I feel extremely tired and I go to work....

I get on the bus, still really tired and don't know how I am going to survive the day... so I get off the bus and I feel OK but then about a minute later my legs start feeling so weak, I don't know if this is what people mean when they say their legs feel like jelly, but I have never felt anything like this before, I just completely lost all strength in my legs and I thought I was gonna fall to the ground, like I actually thought about sitting down in the middle of the pavement because I just couldn't stand.. so then about 30 seconds later, this goes away....

and then I became really disoriented, like my mind just went completely blank, I walked into work and then I was put on the till but for the first five minutes I was there, I was just completely out of it, I felt like I had woken up 5 seconds ago or something, a customer gave me their order and I could barely put it through the till, my mind was just completely blank, it was like this fog over my brain... someone even came over and asked if I was OK because I stood there like a lost puppy. I also became physically slow like if I turned my head to the right, my eyes would only follow with a 1 second delay, kinda like when you are drunk. I was in this weird daze.

Then abut 10 minutes later I kinda woke up, I guess just by talking to people and trying to concentrate etc....

Was all this really caused by a caffeine crash???

I think you should lay off the coffee. Go and talk to a trained professional about what you experienced though, a doctor will know better than us.
But yea, this sounds pretty serious. Try and not drink any more coffee until you have seen a specialist.

I forgot to mention that after all this when I was on the till, I became really uninhibited and got way more chatty with customers than I usually am and I spoke a lot louder than I normally do. I still felt like my brain was all foggy kind of like when you are drunk and I had this sort of tunnel vision-y feeling where I could only concentrate on the person who was ordering in front of me...

I've had this a bunch of times! I'm not one for caffeine, for me it was brought on by heat. Definitely see a doctor because nothing I say really matters, but it has been mentioned before by the hospital that it could be an 'atypical migraine', even though I had no head pain and I'd had normal migraines for years before but they'd stopped for about 2 years. Definitely see a doctor, and lay off the caffeine as much as you can for now. Don't lay off it completely because you'll probably feel much worse going from having it so often to none at all, but don't overdo it.

I think you're having too much coffee by the sound of it - you say it tastes good but I like the taste of raspberries but I'm not going to have 10 punnets a day ! Also make sure your drinking water as well and having your five a day ... Maybe you might feel better - I would see the doctor though as it may have nothing to do with the caffeine and there may be something else going on '
