MBA - Imperial or Warwick? - need ur help

my dear friends,

I am very happy to receive offers of place of MBA programme in these two schools, But this do place me in a delimma -- I like them both.

For my career objective, I want to be an entreprenur after graduation or to be a manager in an investment bank(P.S I am a sales manager), that depends my development during the stuty I think. As all of you know, Imperial has world-famous reputation, this definitely will bring me great benfits in the future. However, Warwick is a really very good business school and with world-wide efficient alumnus network, this also very useful in the future.

Since I am a foreigner, I don't quite understand the actual situation of these school in EU. Although Financial Time ranks WBS higher than IC, it also ranks IC the NO. 2 MBA programme in entreprenureship.

So, I really need ur help, thank you very much.

Well...

1. Don't place too much emphasis on media rankings- they're just there to give you an idea.

2. Both schools are academically strong. Imperial has the name, Warwick probably has the edge for an MBA, and its international reputation is growing.

3. When in such a dilemma, go beyond academics. Think about it location-wise for example (London or campus?) adding in factors such as your social needs, costs and so on. You should visit both and talk to staff/current students before making a final decision.

Good luck choosing, definitely a tough call!

Thank you, PLUS ONE.

Can someone talk about their course in detial?
I don't know the first thing about business, but you'll be able to make more contacts in London and secure possible internships/jobs there.

that's good
That's a hard choice I think. If you're going to work outside the UK I would favour Imperial a bit more for the name. Warwick MBA has the rankings and growing reputation. It seems to be the better course but unfortunately many people outside the UK still do not know about them.

Good luck. That's one tough dilemma.
I think go for the Warwick, as yes Imperial has the "brand" name. And in terms of the previous post I think outside Oxbridge the other universities are really not taken "as seriously" in comparison to oxbridge. So to me logically I would side with Warwick.
BUT as somebody mentioned London offers tremendously better networking opportunities. I believe when thinking about Imperial you are better off thinking of it as "London" in you situation, in terms of do you want to be in WBS or in London.

How about the job placement of these two schools ? I am going to work in the UK for a couple of years and then return to my country, if I can't start up my own business right after graduation. And , Which school will offer more opportunities to help their students on this respect? It is said that IC positioned itself as a cubator of entreprenure, but I found WBS is also encouraging students starting their own business ?

And third question: Is the tutor important on one's career development?

I have decided to go to WBS because of their higher quality of teaching in business studies.

For me , the advantage of IC is only the reputation of University and the advantage of location. In the acutal business world, WBS is far better than IC
Good choice...postgraduate WBS is amongst the best in the world. Warwick over IC for an MBA or MSc Finance/Economics any day. For quantative finance and Maths choose Imperial.
Yeh in this case I think Warwick is the better option. The business rep and quality of courses trumps Imperial's location.
