£157 a week doesn't sound 'affordable'. I'm currently studying in Colchester (moving back to Liverpool Uni in Sept 2016) and the house prices down here are crazy - but nowhere near that amount. If you shop around, you can find some decent 2 bed flats for or even house shares for about £400pcm or even less.
