    We in LDR and his granddad is about to die, he had an heart attack a week ago, now going into hosiptal for nuclear medicine (never heard of it) I know whats going to happen but don't want to say.

    When it does happen, what should I do? (Going to happen sometime this week)

    PS. They are very close.

    I think something along the lines of "sorry for your loss, it must be very painful. I'm here if you want to talk about something, if it helps.". not too short but not too long.

    And touch some wood while you're saying all of that stuff, you never know what could happen..
