    hey guys i'm looking at economics and finance degrees and i don't understand what it means by 'exemption from accounting exam' does this mean that at the end of the course i'd be an accountant or?

    You need to take professional exams to become an accountant, which happens during qualifications like the ACA when you join a firm after graduation. Taking a finance degree exempts you from some of those post-uni exams, but not all of them.

    You won't be a qualified accountant until you've completed the required training at whichever firm you join.
