okay thank you, it looks like they're all the same then :frown:

Call up and ask if they don't have details of clearing grades on their website.
Lots of Unis are listing courses available in Clearing now (ie. if you aren't holding an offer, and already know your results, you don't have to wait until August) :

Bristol : http://www.bristol.ac.uk/results/vacancies/clearing-home-eu/

Dundee : http://www.dundee.ac.uk/clearing/

Goldsmiths, Uni of London : http://www.gold.ac.uk/clearing/

Leeds Beckett : https://courses.leedsbeckett.ac.uk/clearing-courses/

Middlesex : http://www.mdx.ac.uk/courses/clearing/clearing-course-list

Northumbria : https://www.northumbria.ac.uk/study-at-northumbria/clearing-search/

Sussex : http://www.sussex.ac.uk/clearing/uk-eu-clearing-places

Worcester : http://www.worcester.ac.uk/journey/clearing.html

Damn, Manchester has Economics for clearing, thats just steeping low and also like 50 other courses

What is that supposed to mean?
The course and uni I want to get into isn't on there. I hope they're just late in revealing their clearing places.:s-smilie:

Economics is a pretty competitive course so the fact it is clearing is a bit worrying especially in Russel Group unis. Hmm

Funnily enough I wan't to switch to Manchester through adjustment hopefully.

They require AAB, and unis don't have a limit on the amount of AAB student they can let in, plus Manchester is a huge uni therefore they may be anticipating a good number of spaces left.

Besides it may be their tactic, instead of just letting in people who missed their offer by 1 grade and say got ABB, they can just reject them and pick up people who got AAB and deserve the place more through clearing and adjustment.

Manchester are a massive uni and as such admit a larger number of students for their courses compared to other unis. This means they're regularly in clearing however this does not mean you're gonna get into an AAA course with ABB ...
However Nottingham are not in clearing for the course I wanted(which was last year) and they are even bigger than Manchester.
In Clearing at this stage may mean they only have 1 or 2 places to fill and don't want to do the mayhem of full Clearing in August.

A course in Clearing isnt a judgement on the course - just that the Unis suspect that they don't have enough strong CF to guarantee filling the course so they want to make a few more certain offers.

And 'early Clearing' isnt the same as 'full Clearing; (ie. August, when all applicant results are known) - some Uni will deliberately wait until they are totally certain of numbers before deciding to put any courses into Clearing.

Many of the courses in Clearing are there simply because they are' hard to fill' - unusual subjects or unusual combinations of subjects (or 'with a language' ) - worth considering if you dont have the grades for a single subject course

When Sussex says that they only require 3 A-level in any subject, do they really mean 3 A-levels in any subject?

What if a person gets CDD in like Geography, sociology and Maths?

Oh yeah let me inform the public that i did not in-fact get a CDD at A levels LOL.

I'm actually studying at UCL, I was just interested in how Sussex does their things.

Nomsaying?
Oh my God my subject isn't there. It was there last year, this is worrying.

Yeh my course isn't on there either ... -_-
If something is not in clearing now does that mean it will never be in clearing? Or at least very highly unlikely.

Thanks

There seems to be a lot less than I was expecting. For instance one uni has 280 courses but another I checked has only 10.

Clearing lists will change every day between now and October.

A lot of courses will be added and many removed in August with the Scottish Higher and then A level results come through.
Hold your nerve people. Likelihood is you still have a chance at getting in even if you don't have what they asking for in clearing. If they can advertise for students who already have the grades at a level/ will on results day then why wouldn't they want that caliber of student? If you have firmed them or insured them then they will be more likely to show leniency
Seems to be a high number of RGs this year!
I wana change course from psychology to eng lit at uea(my firm) is it possible to change in august?

If you want to stick with uea ask for a switch now rather than later.
