    Hi guys!

So, I'm at that stage where I consider taking a gap year between university and sixth form. I'll start year 13 this September so I would be applying to start university in either 2017 or 2018.

I would really love to go to Australia and become a surf instructor! Mojo Surf do a 3 month course for the best price (however expensive) and I can use this qualification to teach all around the world. I know that the surf industry isn't an easy profession to break into and it will only be a yearly thing which I can use in my university summer holidays. My question is this: Is it worth it to take a year out and become a surf instructor for a year?I am worried that all my friends will have an amazing time at university, but then I won't get this solid opportunity again.

I want to go into the nutrition industry so I have valid reasons for doing this kind of gap year as it can take me all over the world to explore different foods and food cultures, as well as how an athlete eats.

Do you think it is a good idea to do this gap year? If anyone has any experience with becoming a surf instructor, I will greatly appreciate it!

    Paige xx

PS I have been surfing for 5 yeas so I know that I like the sport and could spend a whole year doing it! I would just need to hone my skills - but that's what the course is for...
