First time v card trade

So yesterday i had sex with my bf for the first time.. And yeah it hurt like hell for me but he also said it really hurt and even went a bit semi bc it hurt so much and said that he was still hurting afterwards. Is this normal? Will it be the sams next time?
Ps hes black and on the large side...

It isn't likely to be a size thing, unless he's at a weird angle. It's more likely to be sore for both of you if you've been tensing up, which you've probably done subconsciously, it should get better as you become more relaxed.
