    Hi,

First year done at uni, im doing a sandwich year and I was told that placements are very very hard to come by, I ended the year with a solid 2:1 (64%) and no module I sat was below a 2:1, will I have a good chance of getting a placement or should I expect rejection?

If it helps I'm doing computer science.

Grades are a cutoff rather than something you're marked on for that kind of thing, you shouldn't have any additional problem compared to if you had a first.

As someone who was in a similar position to you it will not be a problem. What you need to ensure is that you apply early and be prepared, especially if you're applying at the big companies e.g. Microsoft, IBM....

And there are also plenty placement opportunities out there for Computer Science students, I'm sure your University should/will guide you in finding placements.
