Are you pay as you go or pay monthly? If you re pay monthly it's normally cheaper to buy a 3 sim and top that up and use feel at home assuming it's one of the EU countries that they cover.

As I know, wifi is so ok in abroad. You can get it free at hotel or some public places.

Nope, you'll usually just get a text from your network notifying you of where you are detailing the costs of txt/calls/data and if you want an add on. Cheap as chips in europe, other places it might be worth getting a local sim.

I get unlimited data in the UK and in certain countries from a list. There's loads of European countries on there. I just call them up let them know and they activate so when I land, I can use the data! Sometimes I get 4G everywhere (Deutschland) and other times it gets the signal worse than 3G. They restrict it to like 15Gb sometimes for the week which is obvs fine
