    How on earth do you define emotional intelligence?

    IIRC, on a related note, women have higher IQs on average, whereas more men have very high IQs than women (since men have a more varied IQ distribution)

    By scoring high on an EQ test! And women tend to do so.

    It's a junk concept. Low validity, not objective.

    Is this true? Most IQ tests are calibrated so that both sexes score equally otherwise it's labelled as biased. I thought the occasional studies that find differences tend to favour men?

    There is certainly good evidence of this.

    Yes, they do, but I don't want my post removed, nor get into a 'discussion' with sensitive users, so I'm trying to be 'balanced'

    I think it is difficult, as the tests aren't all encompassing and don't account for current mood. From anecdotes, I think they are generally, although that doesn't mean they're nicer to each other, far from it.
