Can you apply for adjustment at the same university but for a different/similar course to the one you have applied for?. If you did better than you thought.

I don't see why that would be a problem. I would personally call the university and ask them asap about that.

You don't need to use adjustment for that. Call them up now and ask if you can switch to the other course.

Okay thanks for reply. What about personal statement and will there be enough places on the course?

When you apply through adjustment what can the universities your applying for see on your application? Can they see your current offers or the course you previously applied for? Also, can they see your personal statement that's on UCAS?
Do you have to send in a new personal statement to them if your applying for a complete different course through adjustment?

They can see your original 5 choices, any offers and conditions, which choices you picked as firm and insurance and your application in full (qualifications, results, PS and reference)

If you're changing course it's worth having a PS ready. They may not ask for it but by writing it you'll be prepared to talk about why you're interested in the new subject

Thanks for the help. Would universities be less likely to consider you if you are changing courses? For example from Computer science to Physics.

Also, are the courses that are available in clearing also available for adjustment?

It isn't possible to say. If you're a good candidate and the reason for changing seems good (and motivation for the new subject seems likely to last 3+ years) then it shouldn't be an issue. If you're applying for physics anywhere but Manchester or Imperial then I'm sure they'll be delighted (national applications have fallen dramatically - Manchester has bucked the trend with the brian cox effect).

All courses in clearing will be available for adjustment. Some universities/courses will be in adjustment but not clearing. Those won't be advertised so will be up to applicants who meet the standard entry requirements to enquire about directly.
