So I have St Andrews as my firm choice to start in September depending on grades.

This may sound stupid, but now I'm out of the guidance of school, I'm a bit paranoid I've missed something or will haha. Since firming my offer a few months back I've sorted my accomodation and student finance. Is there anything glaringly obvious I've missed?

Also, possibly another dumb question, when do people actually arrive for Freshers? Is it Saturday 3rd of Sept?

You should be fine I think! The University will make sure you've got everything sorted on their end (matriculation etc.) once you receive an offer. In the meantime if you can apply for scholarships it's well worth doing so.

I'm not sure what day halls are open from this year as I've just graduated, but most people arrive the weekend that happens. That's usually the weekend before freshers, and I'd recommend arriving the first or second day they are open from at the latest as usually that's when people go room to room introducing themselves and going to the pub or common rooms together.

Thanks for the reply! It says on the website the accomodation opens on Saturday 3rd, so I guess most people will reply then?...

I'd definitely advise arriving on the 3rd, it gives you time to settle in before the madness of freshers week starts, and there may be department things/matriculation near the start of the week that you need to be there for.

Out of interest, if you've received an accommodation offer where is it for?
