I'm turning 16 in October and have already been helping out as a assistant coach at a local football club. I started volunteering with a friend, who was assigned to another team, but since I want to do my badges straight away, I'm concerned that he may not be able to do it as well. I have heard you must be 16, hence we waited, but we couldn't find anything to officially confirm this. My mate will be 16 after 2017 so can he still start the course but not receive a pass until after his birthday, or will he have to wait before starting at all. Is there any leeway?
