    How would you react if i said "i want to impress your dad"?
    Is it too soft a thing to be said? sounds a little cringy to me.

    don't say just do
    set up a successful business or at least formulate ideas to put to him about business matters
    get him a bottle of scotch or cognac or whatever he drinks
    buy a Rolex so you can show that you get stuff done
