    Hi guys,

I'm trying to find an apartment to move into for third year with my partner, but the one we want absolutely stinks of smoke from the previous tenant. They lived there for 5 years and obviously smoked inside the entire time. Now, I don't smoke and so this is a problem because I don't want third-hand smoke to damage our health.

Is it possible to say to the landlord that we'll only move in if they get rid of the smoke smell?

Also, it's advertised as 'fully furnished', but doesn't have a freezer or a wardrobe.

Could I give an offer for £40 less per month because of the false advertising and having to buy them ourselves?

ps. we've got to move out of the current accommodation very very soon (less than 2 weeks) and so are pressed for time.

    Thank you!!!

I don't see the harm in attempting to haggle, we got £50 a month off our rent by pointing out it needed repainting in many places.
