Running around like a dog fetching the ball, giving players a towel for their sweaty foreheads, holding umbrellas above seated players. Why on Earth would anyone choose to do this for free?

Back in the 50s, there was a Barnardos home near the home I was in and the boys had to do the fetching and carrying for players - whether they liked it or not.

I'm not a tennis fan but getting paid to watch sport is hardly a bad deal.
